May 2018

cc41ac16d8e8143edc6116ddcc9eb46bThe month that changes everything.  Get ready and brace yourself.

Its Taurus season and we’ll see an influx of planets moving into this house. Taurus is stubborn and relentless towards what it wants and brings more stability. The next step becomes clearer. You know what you need to do and anxiety about the future turns into excitement, but foundations must still be built before you can embark on the next phase.  For the first time this year, well actually start feeling what it is that we truly want. The clouds start clearing and the path opens where we once only saw confusion.

The pressure is somewhat eased with Venus in Gemini which provides temporary flexibility and handy solutions to tricky situations.

Jupiter opposes the Sun on the 8th. Draw upon these forces to shape your destiny.  With so much Uranus unpredictability around, Pluto offers support with its trine to the Sun. If you’ve been pushing yourself too hard, this is a cosmic invitation to rest and trust that doing so is all part of the creative process. Nothing and no one can live at full speed forever.

Mercury enters Taurus on the 13th. Communication may become more methodical and measured. Our senses will heighten, and stubbornness can fill the air.

Set you intentions for the month ahead as the 15th May sees a New Moon in Taurus. Aspected by Venus, this new moon occurring just a few hours prior to Uranus’s entry into Taurus heralds the next stage of this process. Inviting Uranus into the first earth sign of the zodiac – sensuous, grounded, nourishing– this Moon reminds us that our planet herself is a living goddess, our Great Mother.  Earth will push back like never before. We simply cannot afford to take her or her bounty for granted a moment longer. She will begin to show us the anger she feels with an increase in natural disasters starting in May.

Uranus approaches its entry into Taurus on the 15th May. Uranus is the planet of surprise and revolutionary acts and Taurus rules finance, banking and material possessions. This will bring about unexpected change in the way that we use finance. The results of Uranus in Taurus will be felt globally as well as individually on a personal level.  Be prepared to tolerate some frustration. Rest assured, change is already upon us even if it doesn’t seem that way. Have faith, stand firm and keep on moving. If, on the other hand, you know in your gut change is needed right now, then make it. Mars and Uranus will help you out, even though outcomes may be hard to anticipate. Stay open to re-thinking plans if necessary and expect unexpected results, even from something you thoroughly thought through beforehand! The unanticipated has come to stay and there’s really nothing we can do about that except pull up a chair and welcome it in!

Mars enters Aquarius and we express ourselves in unique and original ways. Freedom becomes top priority. People’s egos will be super-charged as will be any last urges to break free, shake things up, do things differently, or go radical. In other words, watch it out there, rather let it inspire you to be the original, reinvent yourself. Don’t do something impulsive that you may regret later on. If your head is often full of racing thoughts Mars in Aquarius may enhance this tendency, so it will be important to rest the mind when you can. If, however, your mind struggles to keep up on a good day, Mars’s arrival in Aquarius may be just what you need! Mars encourages innovative thought and a willingness to come at life from a new angle.

Venus enters Cancer on the 19th and you prefer the comfort of your own space.  A good time to work on family matters, and a good place to Venus to be during this intense time.

Sun enters Gemini brightening moods, making us more curious and sociable and open to new experiences.

29th May sees a Full Moon in Sagittarius illuminating the power of an optimistic attitude and positive outlook, not in denial of life’s challenges but as a way to meet them head on, breaking through them to a place of change. Things can shift during this Full Moon.

A few hours later, also on 29th May, Mercury enters its own sign of Gemini where it remains until 12th June. In Gemini Mercury responds with lightning speed, moving from one thing to the next in the blink of an eye. It encourages you to find new ways to communicate and its good for short term travel plans. Perhaps we’ve been telling ourselves something for a while but haven’t listened carefully enough to get the message. Maybe some information which came our way a while back needs better scrutiny. Whatever the message and however it arrives, our current task is to use our mind as a conduit for wisdom, not as a channel for anxiety, fears and forebodings.
